Landscapes from Memory
The paintings in this ongoing series are inspired by the landscape in Southern Pennsylvania (inevitably the many places that I have lived) made up of successions of rolling hills, the imprint of the Amish and English farms and old mills standing next to creek beds, and mushroom houses and subdivisions filling small farm plots. There is a timeless quality to this landscape that affords astounding views in every direction. I draw from memory to create these landscape scenes, striving to express the profound and expansive quality of space and time and history that one can witness when taking in these stunning views.
